Supervisor audit

Zwolle

Parttime - Fulltime

VS164 Martin Hogeboom 2025 10 01

VHM Audit is a growing audit-only firm with over 30 young, enthusiastic, and highly skilled professionals. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a full-time or part-time Audit Manager who wants to contribute to the further development of our firm.

VHM Audit performs statutory audits for medium-sized and large companies. For smaller companies, we carry out voluntary audits. In addition, we provide a range of audit and assurance services for non-profit organizations, including grant audits and review engagements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As an Audit Manager at VHM Audit, you will be responsible for both recurring and ad hoc audit engagements for a diverse range of clients. You act as the key link between the client and the audit team, ensuring that engagements run smoothly and efficiently.

At the end of the day, you'll finish work on time, because we believe a healthy work-life balance is essential. Work should give you energy, not take it away. That's why overtime is not part of our culture. Instead, we regularly enjoy team dinners, sports activities, and, when time allows, a friendly game of darts at the office.

You won't always be working from our office in Zwolle. Much of your time will be spent at client locations, and working from home is also part of the flexibility we offer.

TOP 3 RESPONSIBILITIES OF AN AUDIT MANAGER

  1. You are responsible for statutory audits as well as a variety of special audit and assurance engagements.
  2. You serve as the primary point of contact for your clients. You help them with questions and coordinate the information and documentation needed by you and your team to perform the audits effectively.
  3. You coach and support your audit team, helping team members further develop their professional and technical skills.

WHAT YOU GET FROM VHM AUDIT

  • A salary between €4.000 and €4.500 per month (based on a full-time position), depending on your education and experience;
  • A profit-sharing scheme;
  • A mobility allowance for commuting and travel to clients, or a company car;
  • 100% reimbursement of study costs and 100% salary continuation during study hours;
  • Study and exam leave, including the day before and the day of the exam;
  • A phone allowance, a home-office setup, and a working-from-home allowance;
  • A monthly contribution toward your gym or sports membership;
  • 29 vacation days per year;
  • Additional leave for social and community activities, such as volunteer work;
  • A flexible work schedule;
  • A healthy working environment with a strong focus on maintaining a good work-life balance.

“The atmosphere is open, and we truly work together as one team”

Robin van den Berg, Audit Manager at VHM Audit:

“We have a relatively small team of around 15 people. What makes it enjoyable is that you get to work with everyone at some point. For each client, we put together a unique team. On larger engagements, we typically assign two Audit Managers to the team. This gives us the opportunity to exchange ideas and challenge each other, which helps keep us sharp and continuously learning.

Overtime is rare for us. Of course, there are times when it is necessary, but when that happens, a message is sent in the group chat asking who is available to stay on for an extra evening. It is not something that is simply expected of you. Everything is discussed openly. We create our schedules together, and before performance reviews, we provide feedback on our colleagues to support each other's development.

The atmosphere is open, and we genuinely work together as one team. Outside of work, colleagues often meet up as well. For example, my colleague Thyago and I sometimes start earlier in the morning so that we can go play tennis at the end of the afternoon.

We also have a volunteering scheme, which allows us to take a paid day off to contribute to social or community projects.

Flexibility and autonomy are highly valued at VHM. We work partly at client locations and partly from the office. You also have the freedom to work from home one day a week if you wish.

The first Wednesday of every month is our dedicated office day. On that day, everyone is in the office for internal meetings and catch-ups. We finish work a little earlier and do something fun together afterwards — such as a wine tasting, or a game of padel.”

ARE YOU OUR NEW COLLEAGUE?

The ideal candidate for this challenging and varied role is a motivated Audit Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career at a dynamic firm with great colleagues and engaging assignments. At VHM Audit, you won’t have to worry about office politics, career games, or an “up-or-out” culture.

Do you recognize yourself in the following profile?
  • Affinity with or experience in audit and assurance engagements, including work within the non-profit sector;
  • At least 4 years of experience in audit;
  • A completed Bachelor’s degree, preferably complemented by a Master’s degree;
  • Able to work independently and take responsibility for completing assignments from start to finish;
  • Driven, client-focused, critical, quality-oriented, and highly ethical;
  • Motivated by variety, client interaction, and continuous personal development;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Finally, we believe that personal fit and team spirit are just as important as professional qualifications. That is why we would be delighted to invite you to our office for an introductory meeting and a chance to get to know each other.
