Project Grant Audits

VS200 Martin Hogeboom 2025 10 01

With a project grant, organisations can receive financial support for innovative, sustainable or social projects. Project grants are provided by governments, foundations and European institutions, among others, and help organisations achieve their ambitions.

Project grants can be used for, among other things:

  • Innovation and development projects;
  • Research and knowledge development;
  • Sustainability and energy transition projects;
  • Digitalisation and automation initiatives;
  • Social and community programmes;
  • Collaborative projects between organisations.

Project grants are almost always subject to specific conditions. Organisations must be able to demonstrate that grant funds have been spent lawfully and that the grant accountability complies with the applicable requirements. Depending on the grant scheme, a grant audit or auditor’s report may be required.

VHM Grant Audit supports organisations in the audit of project grants, institutional grants and other similar audits, reviews or related engagements. In this way, we provide assurance to grant providers and help organisations comply with all accountability requirements.

Institutional Grants Audits

An institutional grant is a grant awarded to support the ongoing activities of an organisation, often foundations and associations. Unlike a project grant, which is intended for a specific project or initiative, an institutional grant contributes to the organisation as a whole, enabling it to achieve its objectives over a longer period of time.
